Merge Generator – ‘WMC XML File(s) Generate’
This feature should be used to generate new XML Files for movies added to the Library and/or if the Information on the Movie has been updated, then this feature will allow to ‘sync’ the new updated information with Windows Media Center.
In other words, this feather enables to Create/Generate XML Files for new movies that have been added to the Library (needed by Windows Media Center to show the necessary Metadata Information for any given movie). ‘WMC XML Generate’ will:
-Generate XML File(s) for each movie added to the library and
-will Cache those generated new XML Files to the local profile (needed by Windows Media Center to show the necessary Metadata Information for any given movie).
-Make sure that records have been selected and placed in the ‘Selected Queue’ (for more information about placing records in the ‘Selected Queue’ see section ‘Placing records in the Selected Queue’
-Make sure that those records from which XML Files are to be generated, that those records have the appropriate information (see section Metadata Utility – Description – ‘Path’ – ‘Full Path’ (25) for more details)
-Alternative, if no records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will prompt if ‘all’ records should be selected and XML Files generated. Note that depending on the size of your Media Library, if all records are selected, then it may take some time for Metadata Utility to process and generate XML Records for the entire Media Library.
To use this feature, do the following:
On the main Switchboard, click ‘Merge Generator Switchboard’
On the ‘Merge Generator Switchboard, click ‘Metadata Utility Merge Switchboard’
Generates Metadata Information – ‘XML’ Files for Windows Media Center Movie Library (selected records) on target movie directory as well as caches the generated XML File(s) to the Local Profile.
If NO records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will ask you if you want to run the Command clicked (ie. ‘WMC Merge’, ‘WMC XML Profile Cache’, ‘WMC XML Generate’) on ALL available records from your Media Library Queue (only). After the Batch Job Processing has been completed, then Metadata Utility will automatically Un-Select ‘All’ Records from your ‘Media’ Queue. This only happens if ‘all’ records are automatically selected.
If you have manually selected a group of Records from your ‘Media’ Library Queue for Batch Processing, then after the completion, the manually selected records, will still remain ‘selected’ (an may need to ‘manually’ be unselected).
To manually ‘Un-Select’ at once all previously ‘selected records, see ‘Metadata Utility Maintenance Sel-Unselect Switchboard’ Section click here.
