Caption Management
Metadata Utility comes with a pre-built list of the Reports, Forms, Controls and Buttons that are available for management. Once activated the Object that you want to manage (see section ‘Object Management’), then you can manage/change the captioning on almost all fields.
From the Main Switchboard, click on ‘Maintenance Switchboard’
click on ‘Look Up Maintenance Switchboard’
click on ‘Object and Caption Management’
click on ‘Caption Management’
Click to activate the Objects you want to manage:
-a check mark means the object is being managed.
-absence of a check mark means the object is using the default configuration/naming convention in English.
To add new Values, then click ‘Add New’

If Object(s) have not been activated in 'Object Management' (see section 'Object Management'), then it will appear as if there were 'empty' values (see picture to the left). The list is editable and this means that user's can 'add', 'edit' and/or even delete Values, Controls, etc from this list. Note that if you delete the values, instead of simply deactivating any particular record in this list, then you will loose the capability to manage that object/control/label at a later time. In such case, that the values were deleted, then the only way to regain control of that deleted Object (Report, Form, Control, Label, Button) will be to re-insert the value(s) deleted.
