Note: Metadata Utility’s Bulk Update Process (BUP) should be used by experienced users. This is due to the fact, that using this tool, a user can update records in a massive scale. We recommend to always have a BackUp of your entire Metadata Utility prior of using Metadata Utility’s Bulk Update Process.
For this example, we will be updating all Movies in the Library that are located in Share ‘Qq\Wmedia’ to their new location on a new Share ‘Qq\WmediaNew’. Also, Metadata Utility’s Share List will have to be updated to show the newly created share, namely, share ‘Qq\WmediaNew’ as well.

Using either ‘Path Builder 01’ and/or ‘Path Builder 02’ search until we find all the records on the Share ‘Qq\Wmedia’:

Searching using 'Path Builder 01' and 'Path Builder 02'

This may sound redundant, since we already found the records we wan to update to the new share. That said however, in the case, that we had also moved the Share to a ‘new’ NAS, then in that case, we will need to update the values in ‘Path Builder 01’ and ‘Path Builder 02’.

Since we already found our records by searching only using ‘Path Builder 02’ – ‘Qq\Wmedia’ AND we have not moved the records to a new NAS, but instead just moved the record(s) to a new Share in within their existing NAS, we will continue only using the searched records using only ‘Path Builder 02’.
-Select the Record(s) that are to be updated.

Tip: by moving the mouse over the ‘Select’ Label, you will see a Tip Text ‘Click to select all records in Queue’. This shortcut can be helpful if there are many movies to select.
-Select the new Share that the record(s) should be updated from the ‘Path Builder 02 Update’ List. As we mentioned before, we notice that the new location also has not been updated in Metadata Utility, ‘Path Builder 02 Update’s drop down List does not show the new location ‘Qq\WmediaNew’, so we will add it as well

Repeat the same steps for all Records/Shares that have been moved, then just generate the new ‘XML’ Files to update your Metadata Informationi n Windows Media Center – No more hassle or problems with Windows Media Center not updating the Metadata Information and/or CoverArt Information after Movies have been moved to a new location.
