Media Path Verification

Verifies the Path Built for each Records in the Media Library is a valid one. If no records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will prompt to verify the entire Media Library (Excluded: ‘Pending Records’, ‘Suspect Records’, ‘Orphan Records’). If records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will prompt to verify those selected records.

From the Main Switchboard, click on ‘Maintenance Switchboard’

Metadata Utility - Mesages – Resource Verification

If at least one Source is NOT found, then Metadata Utility will cancel the Verification Process:

Once the \\NAS\Partition\Location\Target where the Media Library resides has been brought online, then, start the Verification process again. If the Resource(s) are online, then

Metadata Utility – Messages - Path Found

click ‘Yes’ to continue or ‘No’ to Cancel.

Metadata Utility - Mesages – Resource Verification

-If NO Records have been selected
‘Metadata Utility’ will prompt that NO Records have been selected and ask, if the entire Media Library should be verified.

Metadata Utility - Mesages – Resource Verification - All Records

-If Records have been selected
‘Metadata Utility’ will prompt the number of Records that have been selected and ask, if the those records should be verified.

Metadata Utility - Mesages – Resource Verification - Selected Records

Once the verification Process has completed, then, Metadata Utility will confirm if any Records could not be verified and thus automatically marked as ‘Suspect’ Records:

By reviewing the ‘Case Events’ then it can be determined what was the root cause of the problem, for example (not limited to, listed in no particular order):
-Movie Target not found
-XML File BackUp Not Found
-Cover Art Files BackUp could not be found
Once the issues as listed in the Case Event have been resolved, then Select the Records again (namely take the Records out of the ‘Suspect’ Queue and place then in the ‘Selected’ Queue for processing again), then, run the verification again.

XML ID Verification.

Verifies the XML ID/File for each Records in the Media Library . If no records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will prompt to verify the entire Media Library (Excluded: ‘Pending Records’, ‘Suspect Records’, ‘Orphan Records’). If records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will prompt to verify those selected records.

Notes:
-Windows Media Center ‘XML ID’ is a file. The name of an XML File must be 17 Characters in length  formatted as follows:
-8 Characters
– one dash ‘ – ‘ (without the single quotes and without any spaces)
-8 Characters
Example of a properly ‘XML ID’:
FIFE0F3D-3C8CF5BB
Note: During the either automatic Download of Movie Information or Manual entry, Metadata Utility will automatically generate an ‘XML ID’.

-If NO Records have been selected
‘Metadata Utility’ will prompt that NO Records have been selected and ask, if the entire Media Library should be verified.

‘Metadata Utility’ will prompt the number of Records that have been selected and ask, if the those records should be verified.

Once the verification Process has completed, then, Metadata Utility will confirm if any Records could not be verified and thus automatically marked as ‘Suspect’ Records:

By reviewing the ‘Case Events’ then it can be determined what was the root cause of the problem, for example (not limited to, listed in no particular order):
-Movie Target not found
-XML File BackUp Not Found
-Cover Art Files BackUp could not be found
Once the issues as listed in the Case Event have been resolved, then Select the Records again (namely take the Records out of the ‘Suspect’ Queue and place then in the ‘Selected’ Queue for processing again), then, run the verification again.

Folder.jpg Verification.

Verifies ‘Folder.jpg’ Cover Art File for each selected Record in the Media Library . If no records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will prompt to verify the entire Media Library (Excluded: ‘Pending Records’, ‘Suspect Records’, ‘Orphan Records’). If records have been selected, then Metadata Utility will prompt to verify those selected records.
